RAPID PROTOTYPING

apid prototyping technology, also called rapid prototyping, (RP Technology); English: RAPID PROTOTYPING (referred to as RP),or RAPID PROTOTYPING MANUFACTURING, or RPM. In the automotive industry, the RP sample is called.

RP technology is integrated and developed on the basis of modern CAD/CAM technology, laser technology, computer numerical control technology, precision servo drive technology and new material technology. Different types of rapid prototyping systems are different in forming principles and system characteristics because of their different forming materials. However, the basic principles are the same. That is “layering and stacking by layer by layer”, which is analogous to the integral process in mathematics. To speak vividly, the rapid prototyping system is like a stereoscopic printer.

Formation process

Figuratively speaking, the rapid prototyping system is equivalent to a three-dimensional printer.

It can operate without any tools, tooling and fixture case for parts of the single production rapidly and directly. According to the complexity of parts, the process usually takes 1~7 days. In other words, RP technology is a technology to manufacture single parts quickly and directly.

The RP system can make a section with a certain thickness and specific shape each time according to the shape of the part, and then bond them layer by layer to get the three-dimensional parts needed to be made. Of course, the whole process is automatically controlled by the rapid prototyping system under the control of computer. The RP systems made by different companies have different forming materials and different working principles, but the basic principles are the same, that is, “layered manufacturing, stacking by layer”. This technology can be called the “growth method” or “addition method”.
